Sponsored Giveaway from Quilting in the Rain

Quilting Tutorials and Fabric Creations | Quilting In The Rain

Today I would like to introduce you to a very new online quilt shop, and one of my sponsors, Quilting in the Rain. Quilting in the Rain is run by Jera, a self-acknowledged fabri-holic from Seattle (hence the quilting in the rain).  Jera has been blogging for some time at her Quilting in the Rain Blog where she has loads of tutorials.
This Sugar Flowers quilt tutorial is one of my favorites and on my 'to-do' list.  What a perfect quilt to show off lots of prints.

Quilting In The Rain

The Quilting in the Rain shop is a spin-off of Jera's blog and love for quick, easy projects. Jera is one busy lady - working full-time and expecting her first baby in the coming weeks!! For this reason, Jera loves working with pre-cut fabric collections (who doesn't?) and as a result Quilting in the Rain focuses on selling pre-cuts (charm packs, layer cakes, jelly rolls, etc. )and patterns designed specifically for working with pre-cuts.  Hence her tagline, "Cut less, Sew more."
A Walk in the Woods - Layer Cake-a walk in the woods, aneela hoey, layer cake, moda
She has a great collection of some of the most recent pre-cut selections, including a couple of new favorites for me: Walk in the Woods, Half Moon Modern, and Urban Cowgirl.
Jera has generously offered to giveaway a $25 gift certificate to Quilting in the Rain to one of you lucky readers!  To enter this giveaway, go to Quilting in the Rain and sign-up for their email newsletter so you can get the latest scoop on new arrivals, sales, etc. Come back here and leave a comment letting me know you've done so.  This Giveaway will remain open until Friday, January 13 at midnight MST. Good luck!

Thanks so much Jera!

Sponsored Giveaway from JAQS Fabrics

Today we have a generous giveaway thanks to JAQS Fabrics.  This has become one of my new favorite online fabric resources carrying lots of wonderful collections.  Joel Dewberry Heirloom? Check. Sarah Jane Children at Play? Check. Alexander Henry novelties? Check. Metro Living Dots? Check.  She even has some old favorites of mine that are hard to track down like this Valori Wells bird print I used in a quilt last summer or this cute Robert Kaufman Toyland.

I love how organized JAQS is and how easy it is to search the shop by color, style, designer, brand and fabric type. It's also easy to see how much inventory is left of each item. And I really appreciate that you can order fabric in Fat Quarters! This option is not always readily available at many online shops.

And speaking of fat quarters, Q has a sale section of her shop that sells bundles of 12 fq's for $15.00.
Q also has a lovely blog, JAQS Studio.  There you can be inspired by Q's latest quilt or craft projects and tutorials. You can also link up each week to Made By Me every Wednesday.

This week Q has generously offered to giveaway a:
  •  1/2 yard bundle of 4 different Sarah Jane Children At Play fabrics
  • OR a $30 Gift Certificate to JAQS Fabrics to one lucky winner.
Please visit JAQS fabrics and let me know what your favorite print is.  Leave a comment on this post to be entered in the giveaway.  The giveaway ends Saturday, October 29 at midnight MST.

Thanks again, Q for your generosity with us fabric-loving fiends.

Congrats to the winner, Erin:

Sponsored Giveaway from Shabby Fabrics

The Shabby
Today we have a fabulous sponsored giveaway from the online shop, Shabby Fabrics.

Shabby Fabrics has a HUGE selection of fabrics from many different manufacturers (Moda, Lecien, Free Spirit, Riley Blake, Michael Miller, Robert Kaufman, etc. etc.) including the world's largest selection of Lakehouse fabrics. To view the Collections available go here, including some of my favorites like Flower Sugar, Strawberry Fields, and Sweet Nothings. And lines that are now more difficult to find like Punctuation and Lumiere de Noel. I LOVE the way the shop is organized and how easy it is to find what's available.

In addition to the great fabric selection there are nearly 1,000 patterns and books, notions, fat quarter sets and kits! They also have a great selection of Block of the Month projects including two applique quilts (Blessings of Spring and Blessings of Summer (from The Blessings Series with more on the way) designed by Jennifer, the gal behind Shabby Fabrics.  Jennifer has also designed several dozen quilt and table runner patterns which can be found in the Shabby Exclusives section of the website.

I love Jennifer's story starting Shabby Fabrics and thought you'd enjoy hearing it too:
My name is Jennifer Bosworth, owner of Shabby Fabrics. I am honored to be a guest at Diary of A Quilter.  Thank you so much, Amy!

The Shabby Fabrics story begins here. All along while growing up, I loved arts and crafts with every ounce of my being. When it came time to choose a career and go to college, I figured I couldn't make a living crafting so I pursued an aeronautical degree and became an airline pilot. I would take my hand sewing with me on trips and stitch to my heart's content while laying over at various hotels.  The love of crafting never left me.

The events of September 11, 2001 changed the entire world and definitely my own personal world in a very big way.  Soon thereafter the airlines began furloughing pilots. Both my husband (also a United pilot) and I found ourselves out of work  with no health care, two children and a mortgage. These were indeed uncertain and scary times. All of the flying experience  I had accumulated over the last 20+ years suddenly meant nothing. No one was hiring pilots. I knew I would have to reinvent myself and awaken a skill set that I never even  knew I had.

After much prayer and contemplation, I felt God urging me to do something I loved and knew a great deal about already. After all, we needed to find work right away! I applied for a business license and  began selling a few fabrics on ebay. Ten years later, we are selling fabrics from our own website worldwide and loving every moment. There is no question that God is behind the success of Shabby Fabrics. I have a wonderful staff that I enjoy working with each day.

Besides buying products and deciding which projects will becomes kits, block of the month, etc, I also design a line of quilt patterns called Shabby Exclusives. Some of our designs have been featured recently in McCalls magazine. When I think to the future of our company, I remind myself to remain flexible and attentive to God's word and plan. After all, He's the author of this great book.

Blessings to you all,

Today, Jennifer has a VERY generous giveaway to you readers. Not one, but THREE gift certificates to Shabby Fabrics worth $50, $25, and $25. Who couldn't use those?

2. Visit Shabby Fabrics, come back and leave a comment here about which product or fabric collection you like best.
